Curriculum should be vision document for development of tribals

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the new generation should take inspiration from the tribal community for their spirit of love and sacrifice for their motherland. We should cherish the sacrifices of our heroes. He said that for the study and research of tribals, it is necessary for researchers to deep understanding towards the tribal community in order to connect with them. He emphasized the need to indentify the evolving lifestyle in response to the changing times.   A system of research and study should be developed accordingly, only then the study can be made relevant, authentic and effective.

Governor Patel was addressing the Tribal Research and Study Course Workshop organized in the auditorium of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya under the aegis of Tribal Research and Practice Centre, Delhi. 

Governor Patel said that Tribal Studies curriculum should be a vision document. There should be an integrated study of various dimensions of cultural sovereignty, constitutional provisions and historicity of the tribes. It is important that the curriculum should also include the life values ??and natural simplicity of tribals. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sensitive towards the tribal community and their heroes. In the new education policy, he has given an opportunity to the new generation to understand the work and personality of tribal heroes. The state government is committed to promote tribal research. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the universities in Madhya Pradesh and the effective participation of the students in the field of tribal research and studies.

The special guest of the programme, Higher Education, Technical and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that the tribal community is the heritage of the country. The new generation should learn from their traditions and knowledge. He said that the research and study workshop is an opportunity for the tribes to revise the inauthentic, incomplete and preconceived notions made by the British and present them realistically.

Former Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Harshvardhan Singh Chauhan described the rich traditions of the tribal community as the pride and strength of the country. Chairman of Tribal Research and Practice Centre, Delhi, D.M. Kiran said that for an authentic research and study of the tribal community, the experiences of the tribal community should be made the basis. Apprising about various programmes and workshops organized across the country for research and study courses, he highlighted the facilities provided by the center.

Governor Patel was greeted by Vice Chancellor RGPV Sunil Kumar Gupta and presented with a bouquet and memento. On this occasion, the guests seated on the stage were also greeted with shawls and shriphal. Raj Bhavan Tribal Cell President Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary to the Governor Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Vice Chancellors of universities, scholars, researchers and students were present in the programme.
