Under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission has banned all forms of exit polls from April 19 to June 1, an official communiqué said on Friday.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the conduct and telecast of the exit polls have been banned from 7 a.m. of April 19 to 6:30 p.m. of June 1.
Chhattisgarh will see elections on April 19 and 26, and May 7. The results will be announced nationally on June 4. Exit polls are conducted during polling, and voters are asked which candidate they supported in order to predict the outcome.
