General election work should be fair and error free: Observer KD Kunjan

General Observer K.D. Kunjan, deputed for the Lok Sabha General Elections, 2024, reached Lohardaga district on Sunday. During this, a necessary meeting was held by the General Observer with District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna, Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman and other senior officials of the district and officials of various cells in the meeting room located at the Collectorate. In the meeting, first of all instructions were given regarding the voter list that there should not be any kind of discrepancy in the voter list. Before handing over the voter list to the candidates, the voter list should be thoroughly checked. 

 

There should be strict monitoring to ensure that the model code of conduct is not violated. There should be a strict vigil on the violations of model code of conduct in rallies, meetings, processions etc. organized by candidates or political parties and the expenditure incurred by them. Officials should be completely impartial in their election work and this should be visible in both their work and behaviour. The General Observer said that polling stations should have all the basic facilities. Wherever there are shortcomings, remove them. Provide necessary facilities to the voters who have to come from far away. No voter should be deprived of voting. The General Observer said that the complaints received in the control room and on the C-Vigil app should be resolved in a timely manner. Flying squads and static teams continue to take necessary action and seizures. Other legal actions already directed by the Commission should be completed on time. 

 

The General Observer said that necessary reporting should be done on time on the day of voting. The polling personnel who are to be trained should be trained timely and thoroughly. Do not take any incomplete training. Whatever new instructions have come, they must be given training. Polling personnel should reach their polling centers on time and safely. Elections have to be conducted error free. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna and Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Jama gave detailed information to the general observer about the preparations made for the Lok Sabha General Elections, 2024. Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, ITDA Project Director Sushma Neelam Soreng, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar, Deputy Election Officer Dheeraj Thakur and other officials were present in the meeting.
