Kumari Selja, Ranjit Chautala, Abhay Chautala file nomination from Sirsa, Hisar, Kurukshetra

On the third day of the nomination for the Lok Sabha Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) Ranjit Chautala, Congress' Kumari Selja and INLD's Abhay Chautala filed nominations in the State. Other candidates include BJP's Banto Kataria from Ambala, JJP candidates- Rahul Yadav Fazilpuria from Gurugram and Nalin Hooda from Faridabad and Congress' Satpal Brahmachari from Sonipat. 

The nomination process for the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state began on Monday. The deadline for filing nominations is May 6 while nomination scrutiny on May 7 and withdrawal on May 9.

Senior Congress leader and General Secretary of All India Congress Committee Kumari Selja filed her nomination from Sirsa Lok Sabha seat. Amid party leaders and workers, she reached the Mini Secretariat she filed her nomination before the returning officer in the presence of former minister and Tosham MLA Kiran Chaudhary, Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala and former Union Minister Birender Singh. Congress MLAs and other senior party leaders were also present on the occasion.

Talking to reporters, Selja said that there was no factionalism in the party and all leaders and workers had been working for the party in the Sirsa segment. "We are fighting for people's rights and to save democracy," she added.

BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala filed his nomination paper from Hisar parliamentary constituency. Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Election in-charge Satish Punia, Cabinet Minister Dr Kamal Gupta, former minister Savitri Jindal, former Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma were also present.

Addressing the party workers and supporters before filing his nomination, Chautala said that India’s respect has increased in the world under Modi’s leadership. The prime minister has understood the problems of the poor and resolved them. The Congress and its allies are fighting only to save their existence but they do not seem to be getting success in this either, Chautala said.

Chautala joined the BJP in March and soon after he was named the party’s candidate from Hisar Lok Sabha seat. The minister later resigned from the state assembly as an Independent legislator.

INLD Candidate Abhay Chautala reached Kurukshetra Mini Secretariat and filed his Lok Sabha nomination paper. On this occasion, Akali Dal supremo and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh was also present.

BJP candidate Banto Kataria filed her nomination from Ambala Lok Sabha seat. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of State for Transport Aseem Goyal and Kanwar Pal Gujjar were present on the occasion.

Voters should choose BJP Candidate if they want a bright future for country, says Khattar

Stating that Bharatiya Janata Party -led Government will return to power at the Centre because people have seen the work they did over the past 10 years versus six decades of Congress rule,  former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said that voters should choose the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) if they want a bright future for the country.


“The work which Congress could not do in so many years was done by the (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi government in 10 years,” he said. The senior BJP leader emphasised that the party is in a strong position not only in Haryana but the entire country. The BJP-led alliance will form the government with more than 400 seats. The people of the country want to see Narendra Modi as the PM for the third time,” Khattar said.
