Maoists infested states to continue operations jointly

The Union Home Ministry organized a meeting through video conferencing to review Left Wing Extremism in Maoist infested States. In the meeting a plan was made to conduct joint operations against Naxalism and take immediate and strong action by establishing coordination with senior officials of the bordering states from time to time. Coordination with the bordering states was emphasized.

 

In this meeting, Director General of Police, Jharkhand, Anurag Gupta, Additional Director General of Police Operations, Dr Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar, Inspector General of Police Operations, Amol Vinukant Homkar, Joint Deputy Director, IB, Utkarsh Prasun, Deputy Inspector General of Police Special Branch, Kartik S Raj and senior police officers of Naxal-affected states participated through video conferencing from Jharkhand Police Auditorium.

 

Deputy Inspector General of Police, SIB and other senior police officers participated in this meeting from the Jharkhand Police Headquarters Auditorium.

 

 During the meeting, the DGP, Jharkhand discussed the outline of the system's action plan for timely and active sharing of intelligence received mainly in the context of Jharkhand, appointment of nodal officer, action being taken in the light of Left Wing Extremism scenario, mutual cooperation on problems arising in border areas, curbing the activities of Naxalites in border areas and inter-state coordination meetings at all levels. Strategy made for timely exchange of information, effective action against Naxalites active in border areas.

 

Inspector General of Police, Operations, Jharkhand emphasized on the exchange of timely intelligence among the States to take effective action against the activities of Naxalites operating in all the border areas of Jharkhand and also emphasized on coordinating the operations being conducted against Naxalite groups active in the border States of Jharkhand - Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

 

In this meeting, detailed discussions were held with all the border states on various points and the action to be taken by all the States on the current Naxalite scenario.

 

In the meeting, a lot of emphasis was laid on mutual relations, cooperation with each other and immediate action on timely intelligence received during the operations being continuously run by Jharkhand Police against Naxalites in recent days. It was also said that all the states should exchange information about Naxalites and their associates active in their states.
