Property dealer attacked at his house at Shalimar Apartment, Karbala

Over half a dozen miscreants attacked a property dealer and opened fire at him at his house at Shalimar Apartment near Karbala late in the night on Sunday; the victim was attacked with sharp edged weapons in his head.

Police said that the accused are habitual offenders and history sheeters who have attacked Shafi Hassan alias Golu (37).

After the attack, Shafi's wife Sumbul Ali reported to the police that they were sitting in the room at around 3 in the night and both the children were also with them, when the miscreants Firoz alias Baba, Shoaib Anna, Shahid Itarsi, Adil Bachcha and 2-3 other people came. All were armed. The shutter of the main gate was already open, so they directly entered the house.

The main accused who shot Shafi is Firoz alias Baba. Criminal cases are registered against him in various police stations.

The accused asked her about her husband and she told her that he was not at home. Meanwhile, the husband came out of the hall and went towards the kitchen. On seeing the husband, Firoz fired from the pistol he had with him. Shoaib, Shahid and Adil attacked with a sharp edged weapon. Her husband was shot in leg. While the husband has injuries on his head and back due to the weapon's attack.

Police said that the complainant has not given any reason behind the attack.

Shafi had a plot in Khanu village Kohefiza. He had a dispute with some people over the possession of this plot. Police are also investigating the angle of attack due to a property dispute.

Police said that the injured Shafi has an old criminal record. Many cases are registered against him in Nishatpura police station. They are also investigating the angle of old enmity. The real reasons for the attack will be revealed only after the arrest of the accused.
