School timings changed due to extreme weather in State

In view of the extreme heat and heat wave, the Jharkhand government has changed the timing of all the schools in the state. It has been implemented from 22 April. Education Secretary Umashankar Singh has issued this order.

In the order issued, it has been said that keeping in mind the extreme heat and heat wave in Jharkhand, classes from Class KG to Class 8 in all categories of government, non-government aided / unaided (including minority) and all private schools running in the state. Classes will be conducted from 7 am to 11.30 am.

Similarly, classes above class 9 will be conducted from 7 am to 12 noon.
During this period, prayer meetings or sports and other activities will not be conducted in sunlight. Mid-day meal will continue.

A separate decision will be taken and communicated regarding compensation for the loss caused to children's education during this period.

This order will remain in force from April 22, 2024 till further orders.

The heat is increasing in Jharkhand. Half of the month of April has passed. Now the maximum temperature has reached 45 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in many districts have exceeded 44 degrees.

The maximum temperature in the state is likely to rise gradually by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during the next 2 days. After this, there is no possibility of any major change in the next 3 days.

Generally, after the beginning of the day, people are eager to know about the temperature of their district. He wants to know what the temperature was at his place this morning. After this they generally assess the heat and cold throughout the day.

According to Ranchi Meteorological Center, the maximum temperature in the state has reached 45 degrees Celsius at 10 am today. The highest temperature was recorded in Baharagora in East Singhbhum. The maximum temperature recorded here was 45.0 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather center, the maximum temperature of many districts including Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Daltenganj, Deoghar, Garhwa, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Palamu, Seraikela, West Singhbhum was recorded more than 40 degrees Celsius.

People should take precautions to avoid the heat. Adopt safety measures. Especially taking special care of children. While travelling, carry water in a bottle with you. Use an umbrella, cap or towel to cover your head and face.
