Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi reached Godda on Saturday. The ‘Yatra’ entered Jharkhand on February 2. While addressing the gathering Gandhi said that the people of Jharkhand have left no stone unturned to welcome him and the shops of love have been opened without speaking. “I thank you wholeheartedly for this,†he added.
Gandhi was fiercely targeting the Central Government. Taking the Modi government to task, he said that he has come against the BJP which is spreading hatred. He said that he tried to bring Sarna Code, but that too was not allowed to be brought. “Congress brought the Land Tribunal Bill, but PM Modi canceled that too. This provision should have been made in the Land Tribunal that if land is taken from a poor farmer, then it should be taken from the Panchayat and after asking him. They should be paid four times more than the market rate,†he added.
Taking aim at the Centre, the party Leader said that injustice is being done to the youth across the Country. Injustice is being done to the farmers. “Injustice is being done to the poor and weaker sections. Injustice is being done to everyone. This means that justice is being done only to Adani and injustice to others,†he added.
While addressing the rally in Godda from the jeep itself, Gandhi said that whoever wants to express his views should sit with him in the jeep and express his views when he has come to listen to people. Taking a jibe at the media, he said that the media has kept even its friends as slaves. The managers behind them started attacking me but the people of Jharkhand have welcomed me so grandly that I thank the people of Jharkhand wholeheartedly, he added.
Before leaving for Dhanbad to resume his ‘Yatra’ Gandhi performed a ritual at Baba Temple in Deoghar.
Before Godda, 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' continues in Dumka. Chief Minister Champai Soren also accompanied Gandhi in Dumka. Addressing the people, he said that BJP has misused central agencies. “BJP has sent Hemant Soren to jail by hatching a conspiracy. Everyone should take a pledge that BJP will not be allowed to open its account in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections,†he added.
Addressing the Yatra, Gandhi said that we raised the demand for caste census. He said that the Country should be X-rayed. Everyone should know how many tribals, how many Dalits, how many are backward, how many common people are there in the country and how much money they have. PM Modi does not want this work done but as soon as our Government comes, we will conduct a caste census, he added.
