Snowfall in mountains changes weather once again in State

n The change in wind direction due to snowfall in the mountains has once again made the weather shivering cold and foggy in more than half of the state including Bhopal.

The night temperature in Bhopal dropped by 3 degrees to 11.6 degrees in 24 hours. There was dense fog in the central part of the capital in the morning. Visibility at Raja Bhoj International Airport was 200 meters. Datia was the coldest in the entire state. There the night temperature dropped by 5.5 degrees to 5.9 degrees in 24 hours.

Fog prevailed in 14 districts of the state including Bhopal. In the forecast released on Saturday, the weather center has predicted hailstorm, rain and strong wind in Gwalior, Chambal and adjoining areas on Sunday.

Meteorologist said that the wind direction in Bhopal had changed to north-eastern at 5:30 pm on Friday evening. This trend of cold air continued till 7:30 am on Saturday also.

The weather suddenly changed in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday and it started raining. Water fell for about 10 minutes. There has also been drizzle in Guna and Shivpuri districts. Due to which the cold has increased further in the Gwalior-Chambal region, due to snowfall in the mountains, cold has once again affected more than half of the state. The temperature has dropped during the day and night in many districts including Bhopal and Indore.

The Meteorological Department has predicted similar weather conditions for the next one or two days. There are chances of light drizzle and wind speed of 30 to 40 Km in Neemuch, Ashoknagar, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Panna and Chhatarpur.

Senior meteorologist said, 'At present Western Disturbance is active. The clouds are going to affect the entire northern India through south-west and central parts of Rajasthan. Cyclonic circulation system is also being seen, which is bringing moisture from the Arabian Sea. This will affect many parts of Madhya Pradesh.

After the passing of the Western Disturbance, there will be a drop in the night temperature. A mild period of cold will come again. The weather will change again after February 6.

The lowest night temperature in Datia in the state on Saturday night was 8.5 degrees. It was recorded at 9.4 degrees in Pachmarhi. The highest night temperature was 16.5 degrees in Tikamgarh.
