ESL Steel Limited, a flagship company of the Vedanta Group and a prominent player in India's integrated steel production, showcased its unwavering dedication to excellence in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) by clinching the top honor amidst stiff competition. The competition, organized annually by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), underscores the paramount importance of EHS standards in corporate operations.

Out of 59 entries spanning seven categories from organizations nationwide, ESL Steel Limited distinguished itself by excelling in two nominations: "Best Application and Uses of Digitization and Technology" and "Best Organization Adopting Exemplary Safety Practices." The pivotal project that secured the Gold Award for ESL Steel Limited centered on "Improving Safety with AI-enhanced Camera Detection," a testament to the company's innovative approach to mitigating safety risks.

Led by a dynamic team comprising experts from the Digital and Safety departments, including Samir Das, Abhisek Paul, K Sandeep, and Jaweria Mazhar, ESL Steel Limited showcased its prowess in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to foster a safer work environment. The project's emphasis on harnessing AI-enabled advanced camera detection to proactively identify and address safety hazards resonated strongly with the jury, propelling ESL Steel Limited to the forefront of safety innovation.
