SISA Launches ‘Cybersmart Bharat’ to Promote Digital Safety Among Bengaluru School Students

Bengaluru, Jul 26 (PTI) Forensics-driven cybersecurity firm SISA has launched its flagship CSR initiative, Cybersmart Bharat, to educate school students about online safety and responsible digital behaviour.

The programme, officially inaugurated at Sri Siddaganga PU College in Raghuvanahalli, will target around 13,000 students from classes 8 to 12 across Bengaluru in its first phase.

"While we debate firewalls and frameworks in boardrooms, millions of children are silently absorbing influences that shape how they think, feel, and see themselves," said Dharshan Shanthamurthy, CEO and founder of SISA, at the launch event.

He explained that the initiative aims to equip children with the ability to think critically, recognise online manipulation, and build resilience in the digital space.

"Cybersmart Bharat is our way of standing guard for the next generation as they grow up in a world increasingly shaped by digital forces," Shanthamurthy added.

The programme is being implemented in partnership with the NGO Youth for Seva, which will help reach the intended audience.

"In today’s digital age, awareness is the first line of defence. Through this cybersecurity awareness programme, we aim to empower young minds with the knowledge they need to navigate the internet safely and responsibly," said Vishwanath Sharma, programme director at Youth for Seva.
