Delhi HC Deliberates on CLAT 2025 UG Result Revision; PG Hearing Scheduled for April 21

The Delhi High Court made a decision to hold its judgment on several petitions that contest the CLAT UG 2025 examination results. The HC will deliver its verdict concerning CLAT 2025 Exam today on April 16, 2025. The court has allocated April 21 for examining petitions regarding the CLAT PG 2025 results.

The division bench hearing undergraduate-related petitions on April 9 before Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela expressed concern about reported mistakes in CLAT 2025 question papers and answer key. The court showcased its determination to finish the proceedings as soon as possible because the urgency of undergraduate admission processes demanded immediate attention. A future independent hearing will deal with matters related to the graduate-level exam according to the court.

During a past hearing the court instructed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) "to use better paper setters in future examinations" so errors between proper and answer keys could be avoided. CLAT 2025 took place on December 1 followed by the result declaration on December 7.

The judicial panel mentioned that a single question from the undergraduate examination should be eliminated in its assessment. Senior advocate Rajshekhar Rao advised the Consortium through his representation to remove the problematic question because of its flawed structure. The logical reasoning question regarding homeless people became a point of disagreement because different experts held different interpretations about it.

Before this the Supreme Court arranged all matters pertaining to CLAT 2025 to be handled by a division bench at the Delhi High Court to prevent contradictory decisions. When the Supreme Court debated moving forward cases at first it planned to relocate the original Punjab and Haryana High Court petition until Consortium leaders insisted that all proceedings must be handled by the Supreme Court or by a solitary high court.

The petitioners known as aspirants together with the Consortium challenged the previous decision of the Delhi High Court. The Consortium believed that the single-judge bench made an improper decision when it tampered with the expert-developed answer key. A division bench refused to suspend the single-judge decision along with denying any temporary protective measures. The court examined the judgment and decided there was no evident mistake which led to its directive for the Consortium to revise and declare the CLAT results.

The Delhi High Court demanded the Consortium to update the CLAT UG 2025 result on December 20th because of incorrect data in the answer key. The court determined that two questions contained incorrect responses therefore it ordered the Consortium to make proper corrections to the results. The CLAT 2025 exam conducted for NLUs' five-year integrated LLB programs resulted in first declaration of results on December 7 before the subsequent revision by the Consortium on multiple occasions.
