Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari today directed officials to speed up the scheme implementation while reviewing the progress of various schemes running in the state with the support of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). She said that the benefit of NABARD loan will be available only if the schemes are completed on time. She emphasized on bringing progress in the work of very slow schemes and focusing on those schemes which can be completed on time. The CS was reviewing the schemes related to Rural Infrastructure Development Fund and others in the meeting of the High Power Committee on Thursday. During this, there was also a deep brainstorming on the money left (gap) after the withdrawal of the approved loan against the schemes. Along with this, the possible schemes for the financial year 2025-26 were discussed.
During the review, it was told that loans of Rs 1839.39 crore have been approved or are in process for the implementation of 500 schemes of various departments worth Rs 2921.79 crore in the financial year 2024-25. Out of that, a loan of Rs 976.96 crore has been approved for 18 schemes worth Rs 1137.53 crore related to drinking water of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. A loan of Rs 308 crore has been approved for the Palamu Lift Irrigation Project of Rs 365.30 crore of the Water Resources Department and Rs 461.53 crore for the Pirtand Megalift Irrigation Project of Rs 511.36 crore.
It was told that Rs 92.85 crore has been approved against the scheme of Rs 103.66 crore for the construction of 369 warehouses and marketing centers of the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department. At the same time, the Rural Works Department has a plan of Rs 803.94 crore for rural bridge construction. Out of this, a loan of Rs 271.35 crore is under process for the construction of 124 bridges.
During the review, it was clear that in the financial year 2024-25, 22 out of 34 schemes of the Road Construction Department worth Rs 1,088.36 crore have been completed and 12 are almost complete. At the same time, out of the irrigation schemes of the Water Resources Department worth Rs 2,873 crore, 4 major projects are in the state of completion. The progress of the schemes of Rs 380 crore of the Rural Development Department was found to be good.
In the meeting of the High Power Committee held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary of Health Department Ajay Kumar, Principal Secretary of Road Construction Sunil Kumar, Agriculture Secretary Abu Baqr Siddiqui, Rural Development Secretary K. Srinivasan and senior officials of NABARD were present.
