Modi virtually inaugurates three redeveloped rly stations in State

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated Govindpur Road, Rajmahal and Shankarpur railway stations in Jharkhand that were redeveloped at a cost of over Rs 21 crore. The three stations were among the 103 Amrit Bharat stations across the country virtually inaugurated by PM Modi.

On the occasion of inauguration and dedication of redeveloped stations under 'Amrit Bharat Station Yojana' Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar addressed the nation through video conferencing and said that Indian Railways is being modernized rapidly under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister. The stations being developed under 'Amrit Bharat Station Yojana' are not just expansion of infrastructure, but it is an important initiative towards the strong picture of New India and the goal of self-reliant India.

The Governor said that the three major stations of Jharkhand, Rajmahal, Shankarpur and Govindpur Road will now be equipped with modern facilities and will not only provide convenience to the passengers. He said that various railway projects are in progress in the state of Jharkhand at a cost of Rs. 53,597 crore. He said that under the 'Amrit Bharat Station Yojana', many stations are being developed in a world-class form, which will have a far-reaching impact in the field of tourism, trade, agriculture and employment in the state. He also laid special emphasis on the fact that these stations have been developed in accordance with the standards of Divyangjan friendly facilities, safety of women passengers, cleanliness, digitalization and green energy.

The Governor said that for a mineral-rich state like Jharkhand, a strong railway network is the basis of the state's economic progress. Through these stations, local products will get nationwide access and youth will get new employment opportunities.

The Governor congratulated the Ministry of Railways, engineers, employees and local administration for the successful project and called upon everyone to come together and realize the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'Developed India @ 2047'.

Infrastructure at the Govindpur Road railway station, located on the Hatia-Rourkela section under the Ranchi Division of the South Eastern Railway, was refurbished at a cost of around Rs 6.65 crore, an official statement said. Developed at a cost of Rs 6.65 crore, it offers: Four railway lines, A new station building, Spacious waiting rooms, Advanced ticket counters, Elevated platforms with platform sheds, Foot overbridge, lifts, and ramps, Enhanced lighting systems.

On the occasion of inauguration of redeveloped Govindpur Road Railway Station, retired servicemen, members of Zonal and Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee, members of Station Consultative Committee, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Shri Hemraj Meen, Chief Project Manager (Gatishakti) Shri Girish Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Raju Tirkey, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager cum Chief Public Relations Officer Smt. Shuchi Singh, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Smt. Shreya Singh, other branch officers of the division, representatives of press and media, representatives of various offices / departments of Central Government and State Government, representatives of various banks and institutions, school children and a large number of dignitaries, local citizens and passengers participated.

Rajmahal station in Sahebganj district and Shankarpur station in Deoghar district under East Central Railway (ECR) were redeveloped at a total cost of around 15 crore. Situated on the Jasidih-Madhupur line, Shankarpur station has emerged as the nearest rail link to AIIMS Deoghar. With a development cost of Rs 7.7 crore, it now boasts:  Passenger sheds, Illuminated digital signboards, Well-equipped platforms, An underpass for safe crossing, Modern ticket counters, Waiting halls, Parking facilities, Renovated foot overbridge.

Part of the Malda division under Eastern Railway, Rajmahal station has been transformed into a modern railway stop with a budget of Rs 7.03 crore. Key features include: Eye-catching design and lighting, Accommodation for long trains, Improved pedestrian access, Renovated waiting areas, Ramps and special toilets for differently-abled passengers, Indoor video walls, designer signages, and sculptures.

State Land and Revenue Minister Deepak Birua, former Union minister Arjun Munda and Torpa legislator Sudivya Gudiya were among the dignitaries who attended the function at Govindpur Road railway station in Khunti district.

Shankarpur railway station was one of the 103 redeveloped stations inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from Bikaner in Rajasthan on Thursday. The station was developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey who attended the inauguration at Shankarpur along with DRM Chetanananda said Shankarpur village in Devipur has witnessed a sea change under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The proof of the development in the region is Shankarpur railway station in Deoghar," he said.

Dubey said he will stay away from the residents of his constituency for a fortnight as he will soon leave for Saudi Arabia by the government as part of the all party delegation outreach programme. He said former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain told him that when he expresses his views against Pakistan, people in other countries will get to know that BJP is not anti-Muslim but anti-terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was in Bikaner after inaugurating the stations emphasised on the nation's commitment to modernisation, saying a huge effort is underway to build modern infrastructure for a developed India as he virtually inaugurated 103 Amrit Bharat railway stations in different parts of the country.
