Retired teacher Dilip Acharya passes away

Retired teacher of Loyola School Dilip Acharya passed away on Sunday at his residence at Sakchi Seagull Apartment Reliance Fresh. The news of his demise has left the community in mourning. Acharya, a respected educator, was known for his long and dedicated service to Loyola School.

His elder son, Gregory Acharya, who recently suffered a leg injury in an accident, is unable to walk, and his wife is in a state of shock. Meanwhile, the family is awaiting the return of Acharya’s younger son, who resides in London, to perform the last rites.

Loyola School Principal, Father Vinod Fernandes, along with Rajiv Talwar of the Loyola Alumni Association, Ronald D'Costa, and Professor Raymond D'Souza, Secretary of the Beldih Cemetery Committee, are in constant touch with the bereaved family to provide all possible support during this difficult time.

On Sunday evening, Rajiv Talwar, along with Savak Patel, Iqbal Alam, Gaurav Rungta, Haren Rupani, and others from the Alumni Association, visited the residence and arranged for the body to be kept in the cold storage facility at Tata Main Hospital. The burial will take place at Beldih Cemetery according to Roman Catholic customs once the younger son arrives.
