A traffic awareness program was organized on Friday at Scope Global Skills University under the joint aegis of the NSS unit, Student Activity Council, and Red Ribbon Club. The event was graced by Milan Jain, ACP Traffic, Bhopal, as the chief guest, who provided students with valuable information about the latest traffic rules. She informed the audience that if an individual assists a person injured in a road accident, the police will not take any legal action against the helper, but will instead award them a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
Dr. Anant Saxena, NSS Coordinator, Barkatullah University; Girish Saraswat, Head Constable, Traffic Police; and Rahul Singh Parihar, NSS Open Unit Program Officer, Bhopal University, were among the distinguished guests present at the event.
During the program, Rahul Singh Parihar motivated NSS volunteers to form a unit to promote traffic rules awareness within the university campus. He emphasized that it is the duty of NSS volunteers to act as a medium for social change. Dr. Anant Saxena shed light on the seriousness of drunk driving, explaining that drinking while driving is not only a criminal offense but also life-threatening. He also educated the students about the importance of wearing seat belts and helmets. Girish Saraswat used videos of various traffic accidents to emphasize the significance of adhering to traffic rules, urging all vehicle drivers to follow the rules diligently.
In his message, Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh, and Registrar Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha congratulated everyone on this initiative. They highlighted that, in light of increasing traffic accidents, this program is a significant step in educating more people about traffic safety and regulations.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Vinod Sharma (DSW) expressed gratitude to all the guests, the university’s deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and students for their participation.
