The Federal Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (FEACC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Justice of Ethiopia has signed an ETB 3.6-million agreement with the CSM Technologies, a Bhubaneswar-based IT solution provider, selected through an international bidding process.
The project, Wealth Registration Software for Ethiopian Government, funded by the World Bank got proclamation by the Ethiopian Government in 2010 which gave the mandate to register the wealth of elected officials and civil servants, including the Prime Minister, Ministers, heads of States and ambassadors to officials, within the justice system.
The contract was signed by FEACC Commissioner Ali Sulaiman and CSM Technologies CEO Priyadarshi (Nanu) Pany in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.
Indian IT companies have been venturing aggressively to Africa as the next land of opportunity in the IT/ICT sector. CSM is among a very few Indian IT SMEs which has been exporting software to African countries.
With an international airport soon to operate in Bhubaneswar, the IT Department of Odisha, the STPI BBSR and the IT association (CITE) are having dialogues with the ESC to open an Odisha Chapter which would enable Bhubaneswar to host an India Soft that would open new avenues for a large IT SME base of Odisha in African countries for IT exports.
