CM asks Centre to speed up process
Welcoming the Union Government’s decision to regularise unauthorised colonies in the national Capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the Centre should speed up the process.
Soon after the announcement made by the Union Cabinet, Kejriwal said the road map for the regularisation of 1,797 colonies was based on a proposal sent by the Delhi Government in July month.
“The Centre has taken an important decision, it was a long pending decision and there should be no further delay,” Kejriwal said.
While the most challenging task before the Government is mapping of these colonies which will be most likely done by land owning agency — the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). However, Kejriwal has advised to consider the mapping work to be done by Geospatial Delhi Limited of Delhi Government.
“Three affluent colonies Sainik Farms, Anant Ram Dairy and Mahendru Enclave should also be regularised with others as this is a violation of article 14, Kejriwal said.
Stressing on the colonies in O zone, forest land and on the land of Archaeological Survey of India, Kejriwal said the colonies situated here should be exempted.
Notably, Kejriwal said the Delhi Government had suggested that colonies on the land of the Archaeological Survey of India should be exempted.
Meanwhile, the Kejriwal Government also proposed 12 point suggestions to Union Government for the regularisation process of these colonies.
