The Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhijan (OSAA) on Monday wrote to Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal urging him to direct the State Government for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into the Abhimanyu Panda murder case of Baliguda in Kandhamal district.
The OSAA mentioned that Abhimanyu, as an RTI activist, had made relentless fight against corruption and irregularities in Government works and protected public property. His death is a big loss to the RTI fraternity in the State, added OSAA.
The association also urged the Governor to direct the Government to provide Rs 20 lakh compensation to Abhimanyu’s family and the DGP to ask all police stations and intelligence wing to provide security to RTI activists.
