Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday lost another unsung hero Mohd Shafi Khan while he was discharging his duties on ground zero.

An ex-serviceman, Mohd Shafi was serving as Special Police officer in Jammu and Kashmir police and was deployed outside Government hospital,Anantnag to regulate traffic. On Wednesday, Mohd Shafi suffered a heart attack and died with his boots on.

Acknowledging his devotion towards his duty, SSP Anantnag Sandeep Choudhary paid rich tributes to him.

SSP Anantnag while sharing a picture of an-serviceman tweeted, “Today we lost an extremely hardworking and kind gentleman colleague to a heart attack while on duty. Mohd. Shafi Khan ji, an ex-serviceman was currently serving as SPO in Jammu and Kashmir police. He handled traffic outside Govt Hospital, Anantnag for more than a decade with great dedication”.

A young IAS officer from Kashmir, Athar Aamir Khan also acknowledged his services towards the society even after hanging his boots. “So sad and unfortunate. He was so dedicated. One would always find him there at that busy junction managing the traffic as a lone warrior. May his soul rest in peace”. “He needs no intro, residents of in & around Anantnag township know him very well for his dedication & honesty towards the job of traffic regulation outside District Hospital Janglat Mandi Anantnag from years” another netizen wrote while paying tributes in the memory of Mohd Shafi.
