Covid recovery rate more  than 87 per cent in UP Maintain effective treatment: CM

Expressing satisfaction that the COVID-19 recovery rate was more than 87 per cent in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to maintain effective treatment of the patients.

“The role of contact tracing is very important in breaking the coronavirus infection chain and it should be carried out actively,” the chief minister said while presiding over a high level Unlock review meeting at his residence here on Monday.

The COVID-19 recovery rate of UP is 87 per cent, 3 per cent more than the average recovery rate ( 84 per cent) of India. On Monday, 3,064 fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported while 4,269 COVID-19 patients recovered. So far, UP has reported 4,17,437 confirmed coronavirus positive cases while 3,66,321 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the state.

The positivity rate has been declining for the past four weeks. Last week, it was just 2.6 per cent. In the week from September 7-13, a total of 45,287 positive cases were reported and the positivity rate was 4.8 per cent. The next week (September 14 -20), there were 42,141 cases and the positivity rate of 4.3 per cent while in the third week (September 21-27), there were 33,256 cases with positivity rate of 3.2 per cent. Last week (September 28 to October 4), there were 28,000 cases and the positivity rate was 2.6 per cent.

The chief minister also sought detailed information about the situation in Lucknow and Kanpur Nagar districts from the nodal officers, ACS (Rural Development and Panchayati Raj) and principal secretary (Health) respectively. He directed them to effectively continue the activities for controlling the infection in these districts.

The chief minister also directed officials to make all necessary arrangements at paddy purchase centres and to also establish Covid help desks at all paddy purchase centres. 

The chief minister said that it should be ensured that the paddy purchase price was transferred in 72 hours to the accounts of the farmers selling paddy at the purchase centres.

The chief minister also directed officials to ensure that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan was implemented effectively so that UP achieved the top position.

Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that on Sunday, 1,49,272 samples were tested. He said there were 21,361 asymptomatic COVID-19 patients in home isolation, while 3,525 patients were admitted to private hospitals and the rest were recovering in government run Covid hospitals.

Prasad said over 4.1  lakh surveillance teams had covered 1,31,336 areas of the state and visited 2.61 crore houses to check the health of over 12.94 crore people.
