Unidentified miscreants attacked an employee of an LPG agency and looted Rs 10.8 lakh from him at Jhirapur under the Tihidi police station in Bhadrak district on Monday.
The victim was identified as Pramod Bhanja.
As per the FIR lodged by Bhanja, he was on the way to the Tihidi branch of UCO Bank with the cash to deposit it. But three bike-borne miscreants intercepted him near Jhiripur and attacked him with a sharp weapon.
As the bag containing the cash fell from his hand, the looters snatched it and sped away from the spot.
Later, locals rescued him and shifted him to Tihidi Community Health Centre. The Tihidi police have registered a case and began an investigation.
