CCL’s Rajrappa area best performing unit in cleanliness

Rajrappa area of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) was selected as the best performing unit by the Ministry of Coal amongst its various undertakings for the various activities it performed during the Swachchta Month. CCL, Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), PM Prasad presented the award on behalf of the Ministry to GM Rajrappa, Alok Kumar in a felicitation ceremony organized at CCL Headquarters in the State Capital on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by Director Tech (P and P), Bhola Singh, Director (Personnel), Vinay Ranjan, CVO, SK Sinha, General Managers and Heads of different departments. The nodal officers from various operational areas of CCL who played an active part in the month’s observance were felicitated on the occasion.

Swachata Month was observed throughout the Country as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. CCL left no stone unturned in observing this occasion with zest and vigor.

CCL Rajrappa area organized a plethora of activities during this period to show its commitment towards the Gandhian dream of Swachh Bharat. The activities ranged from plantation, cleaning of residential premises, offices, hospitals to cleaning of wells and drains, cleaning of the Chinnamastika temple to generate awareness amongst the community. Innovative programs like wall paintings and display of swachata Banners in Puja Pandals, hospitals and others were also undertaken as a testimony of the enthusiasm of the employees.

 To engage different stakeholders’ distribution of masks, face shields, sanitizers and swachata kits was conducted in schools and to media persons, taxi and auto drivers. They pasted motivational and informational posters about cleanliness on the public transport vehicles to widen the propagation of the message. To spread the message of cleanliness among the different strata of society jute bags, paper cups, paper straws and others were distributed to fruit sellers, vegetable sellers, tea shop owners and others.

Prasad expressed happiness on this achievement of Rajrappa area. He said that it is a matter of pride for CCL that amongst all the coal producing units of the Country, Rajrappa area was selected for its outstanding work. He congratulated GM Rajrappa Alok Kumar and his team for their success. He said that achievements like these are another feather in the company’s cap.

Singh said that cleanliness should be observed throughout the year and should become a part of our daily lives. Sinha expressed happiness at this achievement. Vinay Ranjan also congratulated the team of Rajrappa area and expressed hope that in the future the other operational areas will follow their lead and bring laurels to the company.

Alok Kumar said that this award is a testament of the hard work and sheer commitment of the employees of Rajrappa area.

GM (CSR), AK Singh delivered the welcome address, while vote of thanks was proposed by Chief Manager (Civil), SS Lal. The programme was compeered by Chief Manager, Sanjay. All the safety protocols related to Covid pandemic were adhered to. Everybody wore masks and followed social distancing while attending the programme.
