CCL celebrates 77th Independence Day with fervour

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in Ranchi, with zest and fervour.  Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), CCL Dr B Veera Reddy hoisted the National Flag at CCL headquarters, Darbhanga House, Ranchi and wished everyone on the National Festival .  Independence Day was observed in all of the company's operational areas and establishments.

Dr Reddy welcomed everyone to the event and remarked that every Indian citizen should be grateful to the freedom fighters who toiled and lost their lives to secure the nation's independence. He went on to say that everyone should work together to help the Country's development.  

Dr Reddy said  that the company's energy warriors are dedicated to achieving the Prime Minister's goal of "Atma Nirbhar Bharat." He went on to say that the organization set new performance records in financial year 23. He added that with a growth of 11 per cent, the company surpassed its coal production target in financial year 23. OB removal and coal dispatch both increased by 7 per cent and 4.5 per cent, respectively. He expressed confidence that CCL will achieve the required target in the current fiscal year under the leadership of  Coal Minister, Shri Pralhad Joshi, guidance of Coal Secretary, Amrit Lal Meena and CIL Chairman, PM Prasad.

Dr Reddy reaffirmed the company's commitment to the holistic development of its stakeholders. In his message, he mentioned that the company held 684 health camps in financial year 22-23, benefiting over 1,33,000 people. He further stated that over 1200 beneficiaries have received skill development training in disciplines such as plastic engineering and heavy truck driving.
Dr Reddy stated that biodiversity protection and environmental preservation are the company's key focus areas. He stated that the corporation will develop 9 Eco Parks at a cost of Rs 63 crores. Furthermore, in financial year 22-23, the company planted 3,75,00 saplings over an area of 178 Hectare. He  added that in order to reduce pollution, CCL has hired 22 electric vehicles. Dr Reddy stated that the CCL  is dedicated to Net Zero Carbon Emissions and that an 85 MW Solar Power Plant will be installed in FY 23-24.

Director Technical (Operations), RB Prasad, Director (Personnel), HN Mishra, Director (Finance) PK Mishra, Director Technical (P and P), B Sairam, CVO, Pankaj Kumar, General Managers and HoD's, Trade Union Representatives and large number of employees attended the ceremony. Representatives of various trade unions also graced the occasion.

11 security personnel were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Live broadcast of the event was carried out on the company's official social media handles, and employees and stakeholders from around the organization participated in the celebration.
