Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister of the state Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna on his 104th birth anniversary in the state capital on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogi said that Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna possessed a vision that was aimed at the state’s development.
“Bahuguna Ji actively participated in various freedom movements of the country and he was a great political reformer,” he added.
Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, among others also paid tributes to Bahuguna.
Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna was born on April 25, 1919 in a village in present-day Pauri district of Uttarakhand. Having received his early education in his native village school, he went to Prayagraj for secondary, senior secondary as well as higher education.
He actively participated in various movements for the independence of the country during and after the Quit India Movement in the year 1942.
“Bahuguna Ji will always be remembered for his service to the state and the country as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh,” Yogi said.
