ATS unearths illegal arms factory in Khargone district

Madhya Pradesh Police is taking restrictive action against those involved in illegal arms trade. In the same sequence, ATS Madhya Pradesh has exposed the inter-state network by raiding the illegal arms factory running in Signur of Gogaon police station area of Khargone district.

On March 19, on on a tip off, regarding illegal arms trade, ATS Madhya Pradesh arrested Rahul Yadav, resident of village Sarwal Devla of Kasrawad police station area of Khargone district, and Gurubakht Singh Patwa of Khargone.

On the behest of both the accused, this factory running in Signur of Khargone was raided. Police recovered tools for making illegal weapons, semi-finished pistols, complete pistols and hundreds of barrels from this factory.

The accused told the police during initial interrogation that the said barrel was being supplied from Surat. This is the first time that such a large number of good quality barrels, spare parts and raw materials used in pistols have been seized at the interstate level.

ATS is investigating all aspects related to this case. According to preliminary information, more than 500 barrels were reaching Gurubakht from Surat (Gujarat) every month. Apart from Gurubakht Singh, information about other illegal arms manufacturers is also being sought, who are importing barrels, other spare parts and raw materials used in pistols made with good lathe machines from Surat or other areas.

Information is also being obtained about the contact persons of previously arrested illegal arms manufacturers, who are importing barrels and parts of pistols made from good lathe machines from other states and other pistol tools through good lathe machines in Madhya Pradesh and being prepared and assembled.

By raiding this illegal arms factory  ATS has seized a large quantity of arms making tools, machines, barrels, other spare parts and raw materials. ATS recovered from the factory five pistols, two semi-finished pistols, eight live rounds, one semi-finished barrel, one semi-finished upper slide, four fiber butt grips, 192 chamber barrels, 96 shutter groove squares, one saw, one grinder, one pliers, one crowbar, A chisel, a round chisel and an iron hammer have been seized.

It is noteworthy that in 17 active camps of Sikligars in Dhar, Barwani, Khargone and Burhanpur districts of Madhya Pradesh, Sikligars are manufacturing and selling illegal weapons. ATS, Madhya Pradesh is continuously monitoring the people from Madhya Pradesh and outside states who are manufacturing and selling illegal weapons. Apart from this, continuous and effective action is being taken by ATS, Madhya Pradesh against such interstate terrorist/militant organizations and gangs, which can carry out any terrorist and anti-national activities using these illegal weapons.
