Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the LaccMI Bus Scheme in Khordha, Puri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak , Jajpur and Nayagarh districts through videoconferencing,
The people can carry out their daily activities through Laxmi bus at affordable costs. The scheme would make life smooth and bring prosperity in all household. Besides, it would strengthen the rural economy, said Patnaik.
After the day’s launching, 198 buses would operate in 1,363 panchayats of six districts. By this, more than 75 lakh people benefitted. In Khordha, 22 buses would operate in 154 panchayats which would benefit 15.50 lakh people. In Puri, 44 buses would operate in 443 panhayats benefitting 14.50 lakh people. In Kendrapada, 37 buses would operate in 196 panchayats benefiting 11.37 lakh people. 25 buses in 158 panchayats in Bhadrak district would benefit 10.80 lakh people and 39 buses would operate in 233 panchayats benefiting 13.60 lakh people.
Besises, 31 buses would operate in 189 panchayats in Nayagarh district benefiting 9.34 lakh people. Under this scheme, the buses would ply from the panchayats to the blocks. More than 1,000 bus would ply across the State.
