Cabinet meeting in Haryana today

Chandigarh: The Haryana Cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be held at 11 am in the Main Committee Room, fourth floor, Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh on Tuesday, an official spokesperson said on Monday.

Hry CM approves improvement of 10 ODR roads in Fatehabad worth Rs 23 crore

Chandigarh: To enhance connectivity and facilitate seamless transportation across Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday granted administrative approval for Improvement of 10 ODR roads in Fatehabad District. This project encompasses the improvement of ODR’s at an estimated cost of Rs. 23 crore. The roads serving rural areas of production and providing them with outlet to market centres, tehsil headquarters, block development headquarters, railway stations etc. are known as Other District Roads (ODRs).

Take action against those involved in discharging polluted water into water sources: Hry CS 

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Monday directed officers to take strict action against individuals or institutions involved in discharging polluted water into water sources near industrial or sewage areas in the state. The Chief Secretary chaired a meeting with officers from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board. A plan has been formulated with an expenditure of Rs 45 crores for the maintenance, cleanliness, and capacity building of drains parallel to drain numbers 6 and 8 in Sonipat-Kundli. He instructed officers of the Pollution Control Board to inspect the dark colored water flowing in these drains. Apart from this, he emphasized the completion of ongoing work by March. He further stated that the installation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) with capacities of 10 MLD in Rai and Kundli, 25 MLD in Kakroi, and 30 MLD on Rathdhana Road will be completed soon. Similarly, STPs with capacities of 16 MLD in Badli and 7 MLD in Ganaur, along with the laying of lines for reuse of water, will be undertaken expeditiously.

375 buses purchased in the first phase, electric buses to be run in other 7 cities by June: Hry Minister

Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of Transport and Higher Education Mool Chand Sharma on Monday said that the government is initiating electric bus services in 9 cities of the state. The first phase will see the operation of these buses in the municipal corporations of Panipat and Yamunanagar. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently inaugurated the service from the bus stand in Panipat. The government has entered into a 12-year agreement with the JBM company for this city bus service. Under this agreement, the government will spend Rs 2450 crores over 12 years. All the expenses of the bus will be borne by the company, Haryana Roadways will manage the operations. Sharma on Monday initiated the electric bus service from Jagadhri Bus Stand by cutting a ribbon at the bus gate.

Minimum temperatures hover close to normal in Haryana  and Punjab

Chandigarh: The minimum temperatures hovered close to normal range at many places in Haryana and Punjab on Monday. Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department. In Haryana, Karnal recorded a minimum of 8.2 degrees, while Hisar registered a low of 10.5 degrees. Ambala registered a low of 8.4 degrees, while Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded lows of 7.7 degrees and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius. Patiala, Faridkot, Ludhiana and Gurdaspur registered lows of 8 degrees, 10.2 degrees, 7.2 degrees and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively. Bathinda experienced a cold night at 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Rapido is now Licensed Bike Taxis & Autos aggregator in city

Chandigarh: Rapido has become Chandigarh's licensed aggregator for Bike Taxis and Auto. It presently has 30,000 bike taxis and auto captains and the platform has seen a consistent rise in new captain registrations monthly, indicating a rising demand for diverse job opportunities. A press statement issued on Monday said Rapido aims to add 20,000 captains in the next six months, strengthening its market presence.
