India-china cultural programme at organised at DFEL, CUJ

Students of Chinese language of the Department of Far East Language, Central University of Jharkhand celebrated a day long cultural program on 19 April, 2024 with great enthusiasm. The event was a collaborative effort to highlight the complex tapestry of Chinese culture through numerous activities and performances. The Department was beautifully decorated by the students in traditional Chinese decorations. The Far East Language Department's hall was elegantly showcased by the students' hard work.

 

The celebrations began with an opening ceremony with the traditional Chinese Dragon Dance and Lion Dance performed by Sachin, Piyush, Deepak, Harshit, Neeraj, Shakti, Ankit, Anoop, Shiv Narayan Bishnoi. The program then proceeded with a Ramp Walk showcasing the different cultures of Indian States. The states showcased were – Punjab(Anshu-Komal), Tamil Nadu(Nancy-Ratnesh), Gujarat(Prachi), Jharkhand(Golden-Sneha), Assam(Sukesh-Monalisha), Sikkim(Naitrishi), Bihar(Ankit-Shuchi), West Bengal(Khushi-Pushkar), Maharashtra(Binit-Shrikant) and Haryana(Navjot-Kumari Sneha).

 

Another highlight of this event was a tongue twister performed brilliantly by Urvashi who showed her great command on Mandarin Chinese. Attendees were then treated to a diverse array of traditional music and dance performances including the famous Fan dance performed by Prachi, Nancy, Jyoti, Sneha, and Naitrishi. Rupali Sharma also performed an Indian classical & Chinese cultural dance. Prachi, Anand, Nancy, Sneha, Rahul, Ankit, Naitrishi, Ankit Kumar, Urvashi, and Piyush also performed a Chinese cultural group song. There was also a Chinese game Jianzhi (paper cutting) which has performed by Rahul pandit. He showed his talent brilliantly with Jianzhi.

 

On this occasion the dept. teacher, Dr. Sandeep Biswas, briefed the chronicle of Xuan Zang to India and his arduous learning of Buddhism at Nalanda.

Dr. Biswas also underlined Xuan Zang's contribution in translating Buddhist texts and disseminating the then Indian Culture in China.

 

As the celebration concluded, participants addressed the significance of promoting cultural diversity and understanding among the academic community. The International Chinese Language Day celebration demonstrated the department's dedication to promoting intercultural conversation and appreciation.
