Sunday, 28 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court of Ranchi today rejected the interim bail application of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Soren, who is in jail in the land scam case, had filed a petition in the ED's special court on Saturday seeking interim bail for 13 days. He had said in the petition that his uncle has passed away. Therefore, he should be allowed to attend his uncle's funeral.

However, the court rejected his petition.

Elder brother of Hemant Soren's father Shibu Soren passed away on Saturday morning. He was ill for a long time. It is said that he lived in Ranchi.
